In the Community
At Gaunts of Kidderminster, our family has proudly supported the local community for over 120 years, offering compassionate, personalised care during life’s most difficult moments.
Our Commitment to You
Our role is to listen, to help and to guide you through the difficult and uncertain path of bereavement and walk alongside you every step of the way.
Our aim is to continue to treat our clients as we would one of our own family. Providing a first class Funeral Service with the ability to adapt the arrangements to suit any special request and to make each and every funeral meaningful, unique and personal.
The Gaunt Family
For The Communities We Serve
We are more than just a Family Funeral Directors. We are local people who always strive to give back and support local people, businesses and good causes. Here are some of the ways we have given back to our local communities over the years.
Bewdley Rotary
In June 2024 we became proud members of Bewdley Rotary. Sam Gaunt was inducted as a full member following in the footsteps of his Grandad Peter Gaunt who has been a Rotarian for over 40 years, even twice past President of Oldbury Rotary. We are excited to get involved and support our local communities.
To find out more about Rotary please visit their website.
Christmas Toy Appeal
We appealed for donations of new, unused, unwrapped presents that were handed out by Santa to the Children spending Christmas in Worcester Royal Hospital – The Riverbank Ward. We assisted local parents Mandy Griffiths, Adele Green, Becky Mason, Tony Perks and Aly Lench on their mission to bring a smile to kids in need.
Prom Hire
We hire out our Pilato Mercedes Limousines for proms completely free of charge in exchange for a donation to a chosen charity.
In 2024 we raised £4,000.00 for Birmingham Children’s Hospital!
Previous Beneficiaries Include:
- The Mary Stevens Hospice
- Edward’s Trust
- Cancer Research UK
- Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Charity
- The Brain Tumour Charity
- Ravens Rescue UK
- Marie Curie UK
- Stourbridge and District RSPCA
- Discoveru
- KrazyKats Kitty Rescue
- Cats Protection
- Children with Cancer UK
- PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide
- RNLI
- The Lullaby Trust
Easter Egg Appeal
We helped the Why Not Inn and The Black Country Food Bank at Cradley Community Centre to help make sure no child in the Black Country was without an Easter Egg in 2023. We personally donated 50 eggs and local businesses and families helped with the appeal to deliver even more eggs. A young man, Corey from Blackheath Primary School even donated 10 of his own eggs to help a good cause.
Defibrillator Donation
In May 2022 we purchased and donated a defibrillator for Wollaston Village in Stourbridge to provide life saving equipment to the local community. This kind of equipment is so important and can make all the difference in a time of need, less than two weeks after it was installed, it was used. Proving how vital this equipment really is.
Selection Box Donation
In 2017, Bereavement Charity Edward’s Trust appealed for 200 selection boxes to give to the children they support who may find Christmas difficult, due to the devastating loss of a parent. We proudly delivered 150 selection boxes helping them smash their target and they received a total of 600 selection boxes!

Annual Remembrance Service
Each December since 2013, we have held a FREE Remembrance Service where we invite families past and present to join together in a time of reflection. We share some beautiful readings, sing some carols, everyone is invited to light a candle, and provide refreshments after the service.

Sponsorship
We very proudly sponsored and supported Rowley Regis very own reigning and defending English Middleweight Boxing Champion Tyler Denny for his fight at Birmingham Resorts World Arena where he beat Macauley McCowan in a split decision victory winning the EBU External Middleweight title.
Grass Roots Football Sponsorships
At Gaunts, we strongly believe in the power of community, opportunity, and sport to drive positive change. That’s why we’re proud to sponsor five grassroots football teams.
Grassroots football is the foundation of the game. Bringing people together, promoting health and well-being, and providing young talent with a chance to grow both on and off the pitch. By supporting these teams, we’re investing in more than just football. We’re helping to build confidence, teamwork, and resilience in local communities.
Our sponsorship helps cover essential costs such as kits, equipment, and training facilities, ensuring that players can focus on what they do best – enjoying the game. We’re excited to be part of their journey and look forward to cheering them on every step of the way.
Charity Christmas Tree Donations
Our six Funeral Homes also have a Christmas Tree in the reception area. Each year we pick a charity to support and we invite families to place a memory star on the tree in exchange for an optional donation.

KEMP Hospice Butterfly Release
KEMP Butterfly Release is taking place in September 2025. The special event is help in memory of loved ones that are no longer with us. Families are invited to dedicate a butterfly to their loved ones, come together, reflect and celebrate the lives of those they have lost. Since opening in 2023 we have supported KEMP Hospice in their vital work in the local community, and we are proud to be sponsoring this event and play our part in making a difference.
Donation
We very proudly raised £4,000.00 at our 2024 Memorial Service and Proms for Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
